Additional information

Public weighbridges

There is one weighbridge in the Falkirk Council area which the owner has designated as a public weighbridge. This privately owned weighbridge is made available to the public on payment of a fee.

The required accuracy of this is no different from any other weighbridge in use for trade but it is checked more regularly by Trading Standards. In addition, the operator is required to hold a certificate of competence issued by a Chief Inspector of Weights and Measures and there are various legislative requirements regulating use of the equipment.

The public weighbridge in the Falkirk Council area is:

Forth Ports
North Side
Grange Docks
Grangemouth
FK3

Please note drivers must telephone to make a prior appointment 24 hours in advance.
