Eco schools is the largest global sustainable schools programme which engages schools to improve the environmental footprint of a school. Eco-Schools challenges students to engage in tackling environmental problems at a level where they can take part in pupil-led activities to make a difference.
Litter is a key topic in the Eco Schools Green Flag Award. Completing a Green Flag Application is recognised by the Green Flag Award - a visible indication of your school's commitment to Learning for Sustainability and an internationally recognised accreditation for excellence in sustainable education.
To support our Litter Strategy and annual Litter Prevention Action Plan, we want to provide support, guidance and a range of litter resources for schools, businesses, landowners and community groups to use.
The Strategy and Action plan have a focus on prevention. We want to promote our resources to encourage a sense of community pride and responsibility within the Falkirk area.
Reducing incidents of dog fouling, littering and fly-tipping and increasing the rate of recycling is important for sustainability and we want Falkirk residents to play their part.
Additional litter resources can be found from Keep Scotland Beautiful Eco-Schools and their #GetLitterLitterate education resources.
