A special offer on swim charges marks the re-opening of Bo'ness Recreation Centre swimming pool on Tuesday, June 1, after a major refurbishment and the creation of a new changing village.

Any adult buying a ticket for a swim can take one child free, from June 1 to 15.

The swimming pool re-opens at 9a.m. on June 1 after being closed since last autumn for the £342,000 upgrade work to go ahead.

As well as the modern ne family-friendly changing area, the pool also has new tiling, ventilation and energy-efficient heating.

The spectator area has also been improved and it has all been freshly painted.

Councillor Adrian Mahoney, Falkirk Council's Convener of Leisure, Tourism and Community, said: "Local people can now swim in a revamped pool area and use the brand new changing village, complete with new lockers, family friendly changing cubicles and vanity areas.

"This represents a major investment into the Recreation Centre - and a big improvement on the previous facilities. We hope it will be 'splash' hit with centre users."

He added: "The transformation of this area of the centre has taken a little longer than planned - and we want to thank users for their patience while this upgrading work was being carried out. Hopefully lots of local people will take advantage of the ticket offer for the re-launch and check out the new-look facilities."
