The Council’s proposed new Corporate Plan and Business Plan will go before Elected Members at a meeting of Council tomorrow (Wednesday, 30 September).

The plans, which have both been shaped following engagement with communities, partners, Elected Members and employees, lay down how the Council aims to work moving forward.

No decision on either plan will be taken until the Council meeting. We’ll let you know the outcome as soon as we can.

Corporate Plan

The Corporate Plan looks to set the strategic direction of the Council, highlighting actions that will help communities recovery and the local economy rebuild so the area can become ‘The Place to Be – where everyone can fulfil their potential’.

The three-year plan is structured around three proposed new priorities – Communities, Enterprise, and Innovation.

Business Plan

A new three-year Business Plan has been drafted that aims to help the Council bridge a budget gap of c.£29m by 2023/24.

The plan highlights how large transformation projects – alongside the day-to-day work of our services - could help the Council realise the ambitions of each priority highlighted in the Corporate Plan.

The Business Plan incorporates:

  • Medium Term Financial Plan
  • Council of the Future change programme
  • Workforce Plan
  • Recovery actions

No specific budget savings options will be submitted to or considered by Elected Members at the Council meeting this week.
