In line with Scottish Government guidance, if you have been contacted by an NHS contact tracer because you have had close contact with a positive case, you will be advised that you need to self-isolate for a period of 14 days. If a member of your household has a positive test result, you should self-isolate for 14 days, whether or not you are contacted by an NHS contact tracer. The timeframe of 14 days must be strictly adhered to, irrespective of any subsequent negative result from any subsequent test that you have taken. You should not attempt to return to work before the 14 day isolation period has passed.

All individuals must follow any advice they are given by an NHS contact tracer.

Similarly, if you return from a country that requires you to quarantine you must remain in isolation for the full 14 day period.
